       绘画是一种奢侈，而且是一种人人都能享受的奢侈。无论对于画家还是观者，它都用最简便的方式，把看不见但又应该看见的东西变成现实中的可见物，从而弥补造物主给人类留下的缺憾。

到了我们这个时代，前所未有的文化生产规模和文化消费能力，带给了人们太多的奢侈，能享受绘画之奢侈的人反而少了。对于绘画来说，这未始不是件好事，因为只有排除喧嚣与浮华，而植根于真正需要绘画之奢侈的人，它才会将视觉符号升华为活生生的生命状态，才能载负形形色色的心绪、欲念和人生经验，才有希望切入那条确实指向当代、指向此刻因而必然引向未来的历史发展长链。

作为继续享受着绘画奢侈的一员，我是珍惜这份奢侈的。每当抚纸弄笔，披轴展卷之际，那种沉静而肃穆的审美感受，那种通向尘世之外、历史之外、时间与空间之外的超越意识，便油然而生。尽管古人的曲肱饮水或陋巷箪瓢之乐已经一去不返，但在强调反身而诚的中国文化传统尚能依稀回味的今天，保持对绘画的静观通达态度，仍然不算太难。正是基于此，我愿意将自己的奢侈公之于众，与同好们交流共享，并借以享受更多的奢侈。

Painting is a luxury that can be enjoyed by all .Whether artist or viewer, a painting reveals to us what we do not see but should see . Thus, the artist by an act of creation becomes the creator-the artist makes us see the world in a new way .

In this day and age ,we are confronted by an unprecedented abundance of cultural stimuli and consumer goods, yet fewer and fewer indulge in the luxury of painting. This is an unhealthy phenomenon. To create, one needs to get away from the hustle ,bustle and superficiality of daily life. Only then is artist able to express through symbolic language various emotions, desires and experiences. The artist is in fact making a statement about present conditions which may in time become part of a larger historical movement.

As one of those who continues to enjoy the act of painting, I cherish this luxury. When I touch the paper, caress the brush and unroll a scroll, I experience a sublime serenity: I am taken out of this world and my present concerns into a different time and spiritual reality. We no longer live the simple basic ways of our ancestors. But we can still savour the delights of traditional Chinese culture by maintaining a detached, open attitude when appreciating a painting. And so I share my luxury with friends. Together we savour even greater pleasures.
